To make Hortense , you'll need a 40 x 70 cm piece of cotton-linen blend fabric and waxed cotton thread for the whiskers.
Our tips
- You can, of course, use your own fabric, but in that case we recommend using a sturdy fabric, such as a sheet, that won’t lose its shape when stuffed. If you use linen, which is stiffer, be sure to trim the seams before turning the mouse pieces right side out; otherwise, the linen will bunch up in the curves.
- If you're making this doll for children, don't use buttons for the eyes—stitch them on instead—and use yarn for the whiskers.
